Yara is a leading global company in its sector of activity. Yara, the ex subsidiary of the international oil and natural gas giant Norsk Hydro are active in a unique and specialist field: they develop and supply mineral fertilizer, which is mainly nitrogen based, but also with phosphate and potassium. The Norwegian company’s objective is to improve land productivity and to make food products better and more abundant.That is not all: the group also focus on industrial gases (argon, carbon dioxide, helium, oxygen and propane) and chemical products (ammonia, urea) used for multiple purposes from metal fusing, the treatment of wastewater, to the production of explosives and beverages.With the important ecological aspect to consider, Yara develops components aimed at environmental preservation such as Nutriox which reduces sulphur emissions and Reduktan, a chemical compound which prevents or at least decreases nitric acid pollution.
