It;s great to be a part of Patni. I have really enjoyed working here.
Patni is one of the worse companies in the world
i am working at patni. It is really glad that i got a job over here
They have a very innovative work culture out here. There is a term VPCP (Vada Paao Chaai Paani) used out here where they potray the huge amount and sucks it like anything.
In Short PATNI Can be expanded as Pathetic Appraisals Through No Increments.
Iam very glad to be part of PATNI……. Itz really gr8 to be branded as PAtni….itz has a world class work culture everyone does enjoy working in Patni….Iam proud to be in PATNI
awesome to work here with patni………so proud to b at patni.
nice progress prospects…..very fair chances to go onsite coz a high % of employees work overseas.
u can become project manager within 4 yrs depending on ur performance.
starting salary is less but it will increase drastically asper ur performance.so if u r coming here then i suggest u to b sincere n work hard n u’ll get gr8 rewards frm PATNI
Patni is a gr8 place to be at.. Work culture is very nice and part of ur sal depends on company performance and not individual performance, this helps curbing of internal politics…
Truly, Proud to be@PATNI
The interview is preceded by a group discussion where the topics given are
very general in kind. In the interview more stress is placed on HR, though
technical questions (primarily on C/C++) and puzzles too are to be expected.
he written test consists of aptitude and technical questions. The current
pattern contains 20 questions to be done in 50 minutes and there is negative
marking. Earlier the pattern was of 4 to 5 sections with questions of MCQ
type. The sections were divided into analytical ,verbal , assertion and
reasoning and data sufficiency. The former pattern is more commonly used in
the tests.
In the HR Interview they asked only personal. relating to what you have
written in sychometric test and some puzzles.
one puzzle is 10 machines are there only one is defective items are coming
out
how do you find out which is defective
how do you reverse this in two transitions.
hello sir,

Hello!! Patni work environment is not good compared to companies like infy, tcs. I had been there for two years and juz resigned last week and extremely happy! For freshers they put you in a two year bond and dont give payrise for 1.5 years!!! the bond amount varies from 1 lakh to 1.5 lakh!! so if u can get other better companies BETTER stay AWAY from Patni!! frank real advise
I am shortlisted for job at Patni as i did a mainframe course.I am awaiting a call letter, which may come soon. I would like to know their salary package for mainframe professional.I am a fresher,2005 batch.(ece)
I just got selected in Patni Computer Systems through On-campus interview. It was the first company which came to our place and I got in.
I have still many off-campus oppourtunities to try on.
Our Package is like 16k per month. 6 months trainning as our 8th semester project with 4k stipend. Then they say that there will be a initial 3months trainning period called PPP. we won’t be paid anything for this, but as we sign the 2 yrs. bond after that we will be provided directly with a 25k bonus- in hand!!! that makes around 8k per month.
The package is average … That is what i feel … I mean they claimed it to be the 6 th company of Indian scenario.
Bond signing requires 1.25 L assurance.
The positive thing I have heard about Patni is that inspite of poor salary culture, the responsibility, onsite chances in states and other countries and expertise learning oppoutunities are in plenty.
Can an employee of patni out there … Give me the real picture?? Should I try for TCS, Wipro, Infosys and likes … cause they come with the negative point of donkey work for the initial 1-2 years freshers are put into, with no actual technical developement.
Pls Guide!!!
And can somebody explain the first statistical scenario of patni …
The attrition rate of 18%. Its one of the highest among top notch companies of india.
Whats the reason behind … ???
And does patni’s 2 years experience really counts or helps in any way???
Pls Guide!
hi ,
what r u saying..haha..Patni is the only company in India which actually gives development work even to a fresher..16k start to a fresher tell me which company gives..infy gives 13k i suppose..tcs 14k…onsite chances in patni is 73% which is max in India..and yah PATNI gives good technical and funcationally hard projects ..hence good opputunity to learn..and also i dont understand why do freshers want money in the start..they should just concentrate on gaining knowledge..hence i conclude PATNI is the best company to work for …and one can stay there for atleast 3 years more…rest byy…i am myself working there from past 5 years and wont leave this company for next 3 years atleast…since its giving me challenging work to do..i love staying there byyyyyyy
hi!
Can someone at Patni let me know the scope of a mainframe professional there?
I got selected to this company last month.
i was selected for patni in campus interview conducted in my college. now i am studying final year.so far i didn’t get offerletter.i heard that after completion of three months training, if we are not success in that we are out of job.
if any patni guys are there
let me please give the details about it.
also give details about training.
Hi everybody
i got selected in patni & iam awating for offer from patni.i got selected in pcs as 1+ yrs of exp in java can anyone guide me how is the company work environment.
I always believe that
Talk less work more
Action speakes louder than word
Thank you so much RAITAN Sir, for your quick response. Its really heartening to know about the learning prospects at Patni. Sorry, for my lack of information. I am just a fresher who got selected here.
However, I would like to give you an update of pay scale which was offered in our college this year.
TCS-2.45L
PCS-1.92L
Satyam-2.04L
MBT-3.6L
Infosys-2.45L
Agreed! There is a bearable difference but can you tell me about the increments.
I know its wrong to go for money during initial years and will take your advice sincerely. But still since I have the campus drive open right now … I don’t want to leave any open end and make a conscious decision to join Patni. Thats all. What is the reason behind Patni’s highest attrition rate. Is infosys, tcs really better. What if I get posted to Gandhinagar or other Testing centres of Patni. Will that prove out to be a stumbling block. How many times have you been for on site projects. What is PPP like?
I want answers … Pls Sir … do let me know!!! Waiting in anticipation.
Though really happy to know that you gonna continue here for another 3 years. Thats really great and encouraging!
Hoping for replies.
Thank you so much sir!
hey u r really a kid,,,,u will never succees in a any firm..cribbing over small small points..boss get into patni then see..haha its much much better than TCS who only have maint projects..i am in patni form last 7 years and have gone to stanform for 2 years…germany 3 months …japan for 8 months..cambridge patni office for 1 1/2 years…now tell who will ever give this oppurtuntiy…so kid growup and then speak by for nowww
Hi
who told you gandhinagar is testing center of patni…I am in patni from last 4 years ..man gandhinagar is ODC for coke, ford and alliance capital…coke and allinace are development projects going on …man no company gives you so much knowledge as patni gives…get into it then u wil know they have a totally fulkltime faculty of about 300 faculty..who is only hired for teaching.. and onliste when i joined after an year I was sent to boston for 2 years..came back and joined chennai patni office and now this 26th i am flying to italy for 3 months KT..so man dont compare patni onsite exposure to anyother compaany..its like compairing elephant and ant…
hello,
I have got an offer from patni. could anyone tell me if there would be any great delay from completion of the three mounth training and hence absorption to the company.
Sir, I have been selected in Patni Computers this summer. I’m recruited from Pune. I would like to know whether I would be allowed to work in Pune itself or sent elsewhere. As a fresher I have alot of doubts in my mind. Please guide me on how matters are handled with Patni employees and the training details. I would be grateful if you would reply on my email ID. Thank you.
Hello Friends,
I am experienced working IT Professional.Recently i got the offer from PCS, Gandhinagar. What/How are the overseas oppurtunities are there? How’s the workculture of PCS, Gandhinagar? Honestly, i don’t want to go onsite. If suppose there is no other option except going to onsite, does they allow us to shift with family to overseas? Please let me know?
Which platforms does PATNI work in…I want to enter it but am not a fresher currently working in a good IT company but on the Application support side but wnat to go into development…Support means the Support of the Portal …
Can anyone guide how can i use the it exp to enter PATNI and that too in the development ..or is there no chance …
Do not listen to any one who ever says Patni is good. If you land ur first job at Patni unless u get out of it ur career is finished. They have the worst projects in the entire IT industry, I worked there for 2 uears and finally joined MBA program since there was no career development in 2 years and I knew that if I continued there I would end up no where in life in next 5 yrs.
Most of the projects are copy-paste types, means all u have to do is copy the code from previous application modify a line or two and paste it, compile link it run it and test it. There are more fcking proccess which are worth less than actual coding. 99% of the projects are maintainence with minimal coding requriements. The reason behind this is no 1 prefares giving critical projects to Patni cause they SUCK…hence they usually end up with all the left over projects which no1 else takes up…this is a hard core fact…also thy bid the lowest for any project…they even go down to $25 an hr per employee which is cheaper than a plumber in US.Since they are so cheap thy transfer the cost on employees. It has the most stupidest rules ever…You can not make calls outside, if u r caught printing unwanted papaers they would callu ina room and shout at u….eveything in canteen in expnesive and cockroach full….thy give u coupons to buy fcked up tea….
thy hire fresh grads and make them sign a bond…for 2 years…now this means u cannot quit before 2 yrs since u signed it….now taking advantage of this bond what they do is THEY DONOT GIVE U RAISES because thy know u cannot quit…and u r afraid…thy have given People raises of 80 RS per yr…can u imagine …. than once ur 2 yrs are about to get over the Manager will give u a carrot( what is called GAJAR in patni lingo) the manager will convince u that he will send u to onsite in few months and for that u have to sign another 9 MONTHS bond….so now u r fixed for another 9 months at the company and during all this time you will get no raises at all…TRUST ME MAX WILL BE Rs.500 per yr ….. Than finally after all this jhanjat thy will make u feel like a BHIKHARI and send u for a long term/short term depending on ur luck….Now once u r onsite ur troubles double…u get paid $40,000 which is the minimum wage for ne 1 on H1 in US….
Now out of 40K u pay including everything tax(33% income + 7% FEd tax+ Etc Etc etc)
u r usually left with $21,600 per year which is $1800 per month….now u will have to pay rent which is minimum 500$ per month if u like with 3 ppl in one house..100 Bucks utilities…..
thn grocery will be atleast $100 a month….
Inspite of what u think right now U will not be able to cook everyday casue of work pressure so u will end up eating out which is like minimum $6 for every meal….tiwce a day 12 bucks * 30 = 360
cable and net 30 bucks each…if u dont have this in US u will go physco since there will b nothing else to do trust me on this…
If u buy a car…which is a must if u wanna work in US since there is no public transprt at all except major citites and that too only the poorest of the poor travel by public tranpsort…and everythign else is inaccessbile to u if u dont have a car….
So if u buy a car…70$ per month is min insurance for international pplz….and gas would be alest 50 bucks and car paymenet 150 bucks a month minimum for a used car….
so u r left with
1800
-500
-100
-30
-100
-70
-360
-50
-150
—-
=440
—-
so u have 440 bucks a month in hand if u live in the worst condition
which u might thing is grt casue it is like saving 20K per month ..but trust me u r worth mcuh more than this …u r underestimating ur knowledge…casue with 2 yrs of work ex u get pais min 65K if u r in US with Bachelor in Engg….and this is what Infy,,,wipro and all those good ones pay….
TRUST ME U WILL RUIN UR CAREER IF U JOIN PATNI…..
now once u r back from onsite after 2 yrs u will end up max saving 5Lakk Rs…whcih will buy u nothing… and thn u end up with losing atleast 4 yrs of ur life ….gained nothing….and now career is in a fix…u will be paid PL which is the worst job casue u will end up doing nuthing and thn stuck up offshore all ur life casue no1 wants PL onsite…thy want programmmers….and u will get paid like 30K per month…while all ur friends who joined other copanies makde atleast 15 Lakh for 2 yrs onsite and are not geting paid atleast 60K permonth…u lost on all counts and will end up in a loop ….
FIRST THING DO NOT JOIN PATNI…SECOND RULE..IF U JOIN GET OUT IF ASAP…DO NOT WORRY ABT BOND IF U BREAK IT THE DONOT DO ANYTHING…I HAVE HAD MANY PPL RUNNING OFF…THIRD RULE…DONT BREAK RULES 1 AND 2 EVER…..
PATNI SUCKS…THY KILL UR CAREERS…TREAT U LIKE SHIT…MANAGERS ALWAYS PLAY AROUND WITH UR CAREEERSS.. U WILL NEVER GET A RAISE CAUSE U R IN A BOND AND CANNOT QUIT…
The only thing good about patni is the bus service.
-Patni Sucks…
well hi dude…i will like to answer all your answers..first i would like to introduce myself..i couldt endure what u have blogged before and hence iam not in consent with what u have written…
opkay so iam working in Patni form last 5 years 3 months.. well the copy paste job u r telling ..well its not patni its whole software industry into it in India..30% of the projects in Indian software industry is maintenance..
freshers join software industry then get bugged up and go for MBA because they realise they cant continue doing this copy paste job forever..but dude this is not only happening in Patni u will get to know the samething from all software employees in India..
Secondly u got to do maint..or support job in patni thats ur bad luck..hence u r frustated ..but there are 1000’s who are doing development..its ur frustation speaking since ur luck was not in favour..also u must be having bad logical and coding skills…as per development..i am working for client GE and where 5000 employees of Patni are doping dveelopment work..also i had worked with clients hitachi and motorolla ..coke ..all development projects..my friends are workinf for ABM Amro and guardian life insurance which is also development..so u see its you who has suffered..and then blogging…right ur bad luck…hence u cant give an generic statement about an company i hope u get it right…
okay now lets move out to salary structures ..patni give to freshers 18k on campus and 13.5 offcampus where in infosys gives regardless of on or offcampus 14k …iam compairing to infy sinece its teh best in India in sowftare..and if thats is also wrong..then u would make a generic statement once again that whole indian software industry is wrong..where in its ur perception about the what has happened with you is compelling you to give such kind of statements…
okay more onsite ..patni onsite pay is now 3400US$ which is untaxable…and whole software industry knows patni is onsite ration is max in indian sofwtare industry..recent patni 36% employees are at onsite…with minimum wage of 3400$ to a fresher..tell medoes infy send you so soon..and if yes tell me in numbers how many its sends it..u cant compare in numbers with patni onsite ration..rest appraisals in patni work hard get more ..and this 80Rs is totally junk..thats totally bullshit..haha..i joined patni 5 years back ..first appraisal at that time when software industry was drooping like anything was 2900Rs…at that software industries was closing..and ur saying u get 80Rs ..
why do mislead people …atleast if u cant show them right route dont mislead them..after 5 years my salary in Patni now is 9lakhs per annum..and iam happy for how my career path has gone in Patni..cause i know in infy or in Tcs i would have been doing the same job with least satisfaction …cause there i would had not even got an onsite oppurtunity…
In Patni i have gone in my 5 years tenure 5 times onsite..mind 5 tims in 5 years…no other company would had given me so much oppurtunties…1years i have been in detroit..8 months in cenrtral london..1 years again in sydney..and rest 3 months each in california and pitsburg…so u see i think my career path has gone well..and i have earned a lot in this company rather my peers in other companies are still much behind me..okay comning to why u r frustated ..u r probably not interested in software work which is cominig to India…u see its not Patni all the software companies in India are doing such kind of job..and thats right on part of them too since they get subtantional amount of revenue form there..so u r frustated in software ..if u go in someother firm u will feel the same there too..hence
DONT EVER MAKE A GENERIC STATEMENT..ATLEAST BE MATURED NOW U R DOING AN MBA..ALSO DONT MISLEAD PEOPLE…REGARIDNG BOND …INFY..SATYAM ..WIPRO
eveyrone bond their employeess..from ur side all are worst then…rest wipro policies are even bad..its recruites freshers and asks them too pay 1 lakh as an security deposit which ensures the employee would not leave..and when he quits after 2 years which leagally he can do he gets back taht money..and if he quits before 2 years his money is lost…so where will wipro stand in your list now???
u see its comapanies policies ..and we as employees can only bear this ..we cant challenge…change perspective dude…
GROW UP AND DONT MISLEAD PEOPLE…. thanks and by
Oh Boy!
That was a very statistical review of much hyped Patni’s onsite oppourtunities. I don’t think I am eligible enough to comment on it … but there is surely one startling fact which i would like to bring to others attention …
cog and satyam are reaching for $1 B revenues and patni stands at mere $450. as a matter of fact these companies lagged far behind some 2 yrs. ago.
there is some serious problem with the way of working of patni …
no wonder — no explanation required for the leap folds infosys has got itself into … starting from patni …
Thats all!
yes
i agree that patni plays with the career of fresher.
i worked for 6 months in patni….patni’s processing of calling selected cadidate is SUPER SLOW….don wonder if they forget u . 50% employee always remain on float …as there r no work , no project.better stay away from patni….they will kill your future
hello friends,
I am working with Patni from last 1.5 yrs and to be frank, I dont think I would have got the opportunity to go onsite twice in the first year in any other company.
As far as salary is concern, I dont say that Patni gives the best salary but not very less as well.
According to me, whats more important is what kind of environment and work you get at the early stage of your career. Patni does have support and main. projects but they also have dev. projects. It again depends on uer skill sets and more or less luck as well.
In Patni, my first project was a support project but in that also I got the opportunity to goto US for few months.
Now I got a dev. project and m again at onsite. Its my last day overhere and tomorrow I am flying back to India
but m coming again to UK in 15-20 days.
what I would say is ..juss dont work hard but do a smart work…. if you have the potential and u work smartly, your work will get appreciated in Patni automatically and also that will reflect in uer annual appraisal.
bye for now

Finally I got my dream job at Patni. You wont believe it but this was my 20th attempt in any company.
My interview was really bad. I can say u that patni interviews are just unpredictable. Only hr interview was taken for some of them. Deep technical for some of them.
Mine was different one. He asked me to was a c prog to reverse a string. I wrote it and then he asked me to do it with help of pointers.
I couldn’t do it.
Then he asked me a puzzle. You have 2 sand timer of 7 min and 4 min. measure 10 min for me. I gave the answer in 3 steps, he said it is possible in 2 steps, but i couldn’t do it. The answer is —start both sand timer together. as the 4 min timer ends start noting the time. there will be 3 min left in 7 min timer. so 3 min and then invert 7 min timer so 3 + 7 =10 min. Then he asked me to leave. I was really sad bcos inspite of much preparation my interview was not good. I was not at all expecting the reply. But miracles really happen.
Just imagine the happiness of the person trying from 8 months and getting rejected from 19 companies earlier and getting job into PATNI.
1) APTITUDE TEST: NEGATIVE MARKING SOMETIME APPLICABLE SOMETIMES NOT. SO MAKE SURE BEFORE TEST.
2) GROUP DISCUSSION: YOU NEED TO SPEAK GENTLY AND U HAVE TO SHOW TEAMWORK, U MUST SPEAK IMPRESSIVELY.
3) TECHNICAL+HR: AS USUAL BR READY 4 PATNI PROFILE + TECHNICAL JARGONS
About the Written Test
The written test consists of aptitude and technical questions. The current pattern contains 20 questions to be done in 50 minutes and there is negative marking. Earlier the pattern was of 4 to 5 sections with questions of MCQ type. The sections were divided into analytical ,verbal , assertion and reasoning and data sufficiency. The former pattern is more commonly used in the tests.
About the Interview
The interview is preceded by a group discussion where the topics given are very general in kind.In the interview more stress is placed on HR, though technical questions (primarily on C/C++) and puzzles too are to be expected. We would suggest that you take a look at the Interview section. to get a better idea and view some useful tips for taking interviews

As for the experience, i feel, any one can make it. The only thing that should be kept in mind is, i guess, one should be prepared. I don’t mean that one has to do extensive preparation, but just brushing up of important topics in maths, revising concepts of C, learnt earlier should be enough. For technical test, it was completely on C. There were 30 questions to be solved in 30 minutes. For most of the questions, a few lines of code were given, and the output/result of the code was to be determined. There were 7-8 True - False type of questions.
For Group Discussion, they divided us into groups of 10, gave us a topic, and we had to discuss for 20 minutes. At the end of the it, the instructor would select 1 person who should summarize the entire discussion.

Information regarding my selection process .
1.aptitude test(all questions were from RS agrwal)
2.technical test(it was on C.it was dead easy.they just asked very basics)
3.GD
4.tech and HR interview.
regarding my interview i was not asked any tech questions.he asked me only 2 questions. they are
1.one prob regarding TRANSLATION OF AXES(COORDINATE GEOMETRY FROM INTERMEDIATE)
2.SWAP TWO NUMBERS WITHOUT USING A TEMP VARIABLE.
He concentrated mostly on my attitude and communication skill.
There is important information about patni test as far as i know.
(1) Apptitude Section
there is 3 subsection under it.. arithmatic,general/analytical reasoning, english.
time factor is very important to get thru each section has 35 questions each. n this is a 1hr test n 20 minutes r allotted to each section well if u want u may give extra time to anyother section but believe it s not correct way each section has its own cut off.
so u will have to go through all section with equal consideration.
english is simple ..some error detection sentences, fill in the blank. but major part of english section consist of eng comprehension. there were abt 18-20 question of comprehension out of 35 qus of eng. reasoning is very simple but rememeber one thing as it is simple u may like to do all questions from that section..DONT DO IT. give extra time to english n arithmatic section, comprehension takes lot of time but REMEMBER to get thru these 2 comprehensions r must.
Arithmatic is also easy n my suggession is that dont attempt data interpretation question as they take lot of time.
n important thing is that there is 1/4th negative marking in all the section. so be carefull.
in my openion if u attempt 20-25 from each section CORRECTLY then surely u will be able to get thru.
(2)G.D
its depent on the attitude of candidates.if u r able to make healthy
atmosphere in the group having convinced upon one common solution of the topic the 7-8 will be able to get thru out of a batch of 12. otherwise it may be possibe that only 1-2 or none candidate is selected. dont deviate from the topic say some thing specific to the topic n try to not take the topic in antother direction.if n speak only 2-3 good sentences logically related to the topic, its OK rather than speaking anything illogical n far from fact.
ATTITUDE is very important ..try to not to be AGGRESSIVE but not to be submissive.
n check who is not speaking ..promote that person to speak anything by drawing
the attention by that u will be able to show your team management skill.. but for that u should have spoken something before this.
n yes TRY TO BE THE FIRST PERSON IN THE GROUP TO SPEAK. that is MAJOR key to success. but its not possible always so speak 2-3 logical sentences with good communication skills. n conclude the topic.
n one more thing is that
u may put ur suggession to the panel.
the we can break down the session like.
1 fact n definition
2 problems associated with the fact
3 solutions to the problems
4 conclusion
so the we can give equal consideration to all aspects to the topic.
n if u r able to impose THIS. ur chance to get thru will BRIGHT.
(3) TECHNICAL test
tech/test consist of various potion like
JAVA
JAVA/JSP
VB/ASP
C++
there r basic qustions in that but do it carefully question may be confusing..
u may confuse in the options
in java were 25 question.
10 question were of fill in the blanks. NO OPTIONS.
but there were very basic like Synchronised keyword,Runnable interface,
String Buffer Class,Mutable Class,MouseListener Interface etc.
(4)Tech/Personal interview
its combination of both tech/personal.
be prepare with your final year project. go thru it thoroughly
n prepare with basic question.
u may asked to tell them ur AREA OF INTEREST. so prepare 2-3 subjects thorighly (basics)
n some typical HR question ur hobby..but REMEMBER one thing if u say
ur hobby is cricket so u should have enough knowledge of cricket..n current score of match (if india is playing at the time anywhere)
so this is all about PATNI.
they may have test in a week or two.
Pattern:(All are elimination Rounds)
1) Screening Test –> out of 750, 450 been selected for Aptitude.
2) Aptitude Test –> 50 questions in 1 hour.
3) Technical –> 50 question on Java/Jsp in 40 min. JSP was bit easy.
4) GD –> It was bit easy, was on general topic.
5) Tech/Per Interview –> All about Your Project which u mentioned in ur resume and on JSP.
Since I am from Hyderabad, they asked me how did I get info about this recuritement in interview.
I am sending the pattern of this test first we had 2 written test
one ananlytical - mostly from RS Agarwal
second was tech. written test- ( based on ur choice it can be c/C++/java/vb/asp/oracle)
next day we had interviews (2)
one was purely tech. ( its not so tough)
second was a mixture of tech. and hr(mostly it was hr but still they asked some tech questions also)
then they gave us a letter indicating that we were
short listed for future requirements.
There was an aptitude test,GD, psychometric(they call it by soem other name )followed by technical/personal interview.
aptitude test was simple ,R S Agarwal type questions ..for those who cleared the test there was a psychometric test (nobody willbe eliminated based on this !!)and then there was GD those who cleared GD, were called for an interview.
GD topic was “Age of Information”
..interview was of 30 -40 minutes duration.some of the questions asked to me where ..
1) what is page fault ?how it happens?
2) what is the need of nomalization ?
3)if you have a client who doesn’t need a peoplesoft package , but can manage with excel, but ur target requires that u should sell ur peoplesoft to him also what will u do ? will u try to sell it or tell him to use excel ?(HR)
4)if u were given 6 sticks of equal size and how will u form 3 equilateral(only 3 not more not less) triangles using them ?
psychometric test was pure chatecter checkin and consistancy checking test ..one has to be care ful that he answes all and answers are consistant (same question will be asked in different ways!!)
being honest is a good solution!!
About a week after I applied,I got the call letter to write the test in Anna University,Guindy.
The process started with the ppt on the company. The auditorium was overflowing. After the presentation the aptitude test was to take place. It was clear that the Team wasn’t prepared for such a huge crowd. people without the call letter were asked to leave the hall, people without 1yr experience were also asked to leave. There weren’t enough question papers so the test was conducted in batches.
The test was quite easy, though I don’t remember the questions I bet u cud attend all the questions if u had just browsed thru R.S.Agarwal questions.
The test was over by 1pm. They said the results wud be put up in the auditorium by 1.30pm. But it wasn’t…1.30…2….2.30….3….no use roaming around the auditorium & we started walking around & lo & behold the results are put up near the hall. is my name there yes. just in time for the Group Discussion which was running late by an hr.
The topic was “Middle Class-Problems & Solutions”. I thought that everybody knew what a GD was but no what I saw of our GD was that everybody opened their mouth at the same time, nobody ready to stop talking & to listen what their friend had to say. At a point I started banging the desk & I said lets start the “GD” please & tried to give the silent members a chance by asking “what’s ur opinion on this”? “let her finish her point” etc
At the end the evaluators asked each of us to summarise the GD & write in a paper about the events of the day.
That was the end of Round 2.
The selected ppl were asked to go thru a psychometric test.
After which we were asked to wait for interview.
2 rounds of personal interview.I was asked about my project & my work experience. For some there were technical questions related to Electronics. (The interviewer was an electronics guy as only ECE students were asked technical questions!!!)
Training is for 5 months on Mainframes. 2hrs a day on alternate days.We were asked to continue with our current jobs.
After 5 months a test will be held & “if” you pass it & “if” there is any requirement you will be taken in!!!!
Regarding patni interview. Here I am giving my exp details
1.In the first level you have to complete arithmetic test. questions are very simple based on profit and loss, speed and distance etc if u prepare rs agarwal u can easily clear it. after completing this within 1 hr they anounced the slected
candidates.
2. 2nd round technical round. questions are from JSP, EJB and IPLANET SERVER. to complete this u must be thorough in JSP Basics like syntax of expressions, drectives etc, and EJB also they concentrated on basics only they asked questions abt message driven beans also.
3.in the interview they asked abt the projects and some questions from JSP,Servlets, Core JAVA they will ask questions basing on whst u tell them for the question WHAT ARE U R CORE SKILLS? and Projects i.e if u kept EJB project certainly they will ask questions from EJB.
They have an aptitude test consisting of 40questions in 1hr. Didnt have marking. But in the camppus the apti was different with a bit of ‘c’ questions.
Then there is a GD. in college my topic was like a case study where a certain scenario was given and u had to give ur call. In end u will be asked to sumarize and write to conclusion on a piece of paper.
The third round will be a tech/HR interrview. they screw some ppl with difficult situations or ask some q’s in ‘c’.

Subject: Cost cutting measures
Folks
We are all well aware of the various initiatives in improving margins. Delivery related initiatives have scaled and given us the direction and momentum in this. The next level is focussing on the G&A costs and at Admin/Commercial areas we are working on small ideas which will impact everyone. Please note that you will witness some changes in our day-to-day environment and some of them may appear excessive. The reason could be two fold - (a)intentional and (b)misunderstanding and/or exceeding the mandate by the person executing the task.
Areas that will get impacted and needs your full hearted cooperation and support are
1. Air conditioning- we are working on a timer system which will give savings in operation cost.
2. Electricity - Some 700 odd bulbs will go away at HDC which can translate to 12000 Rs. per month saving !! And still ample lighting for work.
3. Stationery, Xerox and Printing - A big black hole with almost no control - PACE, QDI, HR and BUs. For example - Hand-tissues will be stopped forthwith.
4. Transport - Avoiding adhoc transport, combining shifts, bus pass based travel etc.
And so on….
Please do revert to me or Shripad directly in case you see any obvious lapse or errors. Objectives remaining same we will try to meet the cost challenges with your support.
Thanks in advance.

Please don’t ever think of joining PATNI. Till now there is only one good thing about PATNI is free transport service and this also going to be removed from JUNE, so my sincere request to people who are thinking of PATNI, Just don’t think of PATNI. Better go for another small company.
Go for other company even if starting pay is less, because if you once joined in PATNI, you can’t get any hikes.
Hi,
I Got selected in Patni for 1+ year experienced Java Programmer.
Could anyone please tell me about the pay structure of Patni and the increments.
people are soft spoken , even while taking interview , they make you fill comfartable . Yes the company is not exactly the first class company but still …..
It’s a very good company where u can learn a lot but salary wise it is nowhere competing with the peers.
avg Salaries are almost less by 20 to 40 % compared to peers. Also hidden components like CPI/VPCP which u never get more than 60 to 70 %.
hi,
Any one at patni will say me how to contact patni computers for calling for the campus recruitment at our college:
S.G.G.S. Institute of Engg & Technology,Nanded(Maharashtra);
Hey plz help!!!!!
plz contact pbpimpale@gmail.com
>>>Prakash
hi to all,
i got through PATNI through my campus.
there were 3 rounds.
1)aptitude-majority of the questions from R.S.Agarwal QA
2)GD-TOPIC:cricket should be banned or not.
3)Technical+HR round..
it was quite easier.be good in basics and be confident trough out. thats it.
Paywise this company is very bad. People here are still waiting for their annual appriasal letters, which were supposed to be given by May -06. The salaries are almost 30 % less than industry standards. In other words the peer comapnies for patni are not infy, tcs but masteak (where scalres are little higher than patni)
The take hom,e sal of fresher is 9K who comes from campus and for others it is less than 8k. And the person is under bond of 2 years???
CPI and VPCP are the components whcih u hardly get in 5%.
And now they r doing cost cutting on all fronts including TEA, paper. transport (paid service)
so think 10 tinmes
Patni is a great company to work with. Although I have joined here very recently, the people here are very co-operative and helping nature. I got a very good start here in Patni. I think people have many different exppiriences some good and some not so good.
But for me Patni’s a very good company to work with.
Hi
Please think very deeply before joining patni, managers are very harassaing, they will make u slog for 14-16hrs a day , work on weekends don’t allow u to take leaves, and if u don’t take leaves they cut number of PL’s at company level very wicked HR policy.
Most of their big clients have left them viz,, Hitachi , GE and ABN-amro and many are closing their deals with patni, and attrition is at its peak post-appriaslas 2006. Even big shots (senior) people are leaving viz .. Vice-president, CFO Deepak Sogani etc… Also they closed there one pune branch due to lack of profile.
Its titanc already hit a ice-berg…run run..away from patnu as fast as u can.
Also onsite assignments are less now-a-days and most projects are very badly managed. If u r C++ guy they will put u in Java or worst mainframes and vice-versa. Its totall management failure.
patni has collapsed in toto.
-Patniie
Hi all,
This is not the reality that many cilents are leaving the company, in fact many no. of new clients have been added to the Clientlist of the company. Here the prospects are very good in comparision to any other company in India.
There are always 2 sides to anything. You get to see the way you look at it. The people who are talking against the company must have had bad expirience in Patni due to their bad performance. Here in Patni if you work sincerely you are bound to receive the good returns you desreve, which is my personal expirience.
And as far as the people leaving the company is concerned then it is seen in almost all the companies. When 1 person leaves it is replaced with other person who is at senior position in some other company.
Hi,
Keep joining Patni as last option. you need to sign 2-yrs bond in patni. this excludes the 3-4 months training provided by patni and exp. letter will not be provided for the training period. ur salry at the time of joinig wud be 8k. Morover there will be only a marginal hike in 2 yrs.
Hey I have worked in Patni for two years and I was planning to continue with it..but they have certain problems with their process and believe me there is. I am not saying it is a bad or good company it relies on person to person. Whoever gets good oppurtunity even after being a perfect dumb will boast about the company. Now the point is why attrition rate is high?? The reason is that when you feel insecured, your work is not recognized and finally when you don’t get the clear picture how ur performance is assessed. For beginners don’t worry about packages, experience guys think and think a lot. One concern is that beginners like having 2yrs experience in Patni they quit patni. Also career is not only onsite dude. Yes it’s true they have onsite oppurtunity but how many people went to onsite from last two years. From 5 years back software industry was different..there were lots and lots of onsite opurtunity everywhere so people who are working for more than 5years please don’t creep on about onsite oppurtunities. But I will suggest if you are a fresher you can join Patni not only Patni wherever you get the job join and start building up ur career. AND IF YOU ARE MARATHI AND STAY IN BOMBAY GO AHEAD..MARATHI PEOPLE GET THE BEST OPPURTUNITY IN PATNI MUMBAI…MARATHI POLITICS JAI HO…
Patni is the worst place to be!!
A nightmare for two years….A bonded slave one would be…
I had my worst nightmares in Patni…..and they hav the most crappiest of people managing the company…
just compare the reality ….when patni was started and how much it has grown relative to peers!!!
the company doesnt give anything to employees nor it can retain them…thats why i didnt grow like other companies…..
dont waste your life

If you join Patni, beaware of these guys-
1. Nilesh Tathed- The devil for freshers. Completely politician.
2. Mandar Kelkar (London / Mumbai) - Loves to work alone and highly insecure about this own position, hence will always try to put you down.
3. Amar Mehta - The only thing is does is talking to girls and delegating tasks.
Patni in general sucks because they don’t have senior resources for mentoring juniors. No good senior resource joins from Patni coz of low pay and no fresher sticks for more than 2 years for the same reason.
hello friends i am working in patni…currently in the training …i am Mca..from VESIT a college topper..salary is not the matter for me …but i have been put into the non-it batch.Where i get people from chemical Eng and even other non-it streams working and learing with me..learning is not a problem..it is all in their hands…but i hardly find them intrested in all trainings that is going on.They just copy during the test..their are few MCA’s in our batch and IT eng,who really put in their efforts. But the non-it people go to the Library, sit and study for their next year CAT exams..and they are even fetching salary.
Moreover they know only one thing in computers that is how to play games..that is what they do the whole day.where as my experience in the industry is even before Mca.
IS THIS RIGHT???if any one from patni sort out this issue..
and now i am in a trouble becaue the whole batch keeps on playing games and not allow people who really want to build up thier carriers …is their any option other tatn complaining…or is this a management issuse where in they have put all MCA,IT along with thw\e non-it batch dont they deserve to be in a different batch
