Snecma

Thales

Thales (TAH-less), France’s largest defense company. Its Defense division includes airborne systems (intelligence/surveillance, missiles), land and joint systems (command and control systems, vehicle electronics, optronics, munitions), naval systems (ships, missiles, countermeasures, sonar), and air-defense systems (anti-missile systems, detection/identification systems). Aerospace offerings include avionics, air traffic management, and aircraft simulators. Lastly, IT & Services includes network, communications, and transaction security systems. The French government owns 33% of Thales.

L-3 Communications

L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. (L-3) is a supplier of a range of products used in a number of aerospace and defense platforms. It is also a supplier of subsystems on platforms, including those for secure communication networks; mobile satellite communications; information security systems; shipboard communications; naval power systems; fuses and safety and arming devices for missiles and munitions; microwave assemblies for radars and missiles; telemetry and instrumentation, and airport security systems. In addition, the Company is a prime system contractor for aircraft modernization and maintenance; intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) collection platforms; simulation and training, and government systems support services. L-3’s four operating segments include Secure Communications and ISR; Training, Simulation and Support Services; Aviation Products and Aircraft Modernization, and Specialized Products.

BAE Systems

BAE Systems, an English Group, is one of the world leaders on the arms, military defense and aviation markets. It supplies a wide range of services, including systems integration and engineering. BAE Systems covers all sectors, from military defense (air, land, sea and aerospace) to the civil aviation market. Finmeccanica

Rolls-Royce

The company has energy customers in nearly 120 countries. Rolls-Royce employs around 35,000 people, of which 21,000 are in the UK. Forty per cent of its employees are based outside the UK - including 5,000 in the rest of Europe and 8,000 in North America.

General Dynamics

General Dynamics has four main business segments. Aerospace designs, manufactures and provides services for mid-size, large cabin and ultra-long range business aircraft. Combat Systems supplies land and amphibious combat machines and systems, including armored vehicles, power trains, turrets, munitions and gun systems. Information Systems and Technology’s expertise lies in specialized data acquisition and processing, in advanced electronics, and in battlespace information networks and management systems. EADS

European Aeronautic Defence and Space (EADS), a global leader in aerospace, defence and related services, strongly improved its financial performance in the first quarter of 2005. From January to March 2005, the company reached an EBIT * (pre-goodwill and exceptionals) of $657 million, more than triple the figure for the same period of 2004 ($198 million). Revenues grew by 16 percent to $7 billion driven by strong performance across all divisions. Defence revenues also grew by 16 percent.

Boeing
